Port Serra Mariola (Port alt del Portell)

The early slopes present the main challenge to the climb and things mellow out after the first 2km, as the climb takes you up and into the Serra Mariola park itself. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful areas in the whole region of Valencia and presents lush vistas in stark contrast to the rockier climbs towards the coast and the south.
The climb starts from ancient Bocairent and often quickly follows Port de Bocairent from Ontinyent, for nearly 600m of elevation gain when joined. As a descent it is tight and technical, before easing as you approach Ontinyent.
